General Rules

Eligibility & Conduct

  • Participants must belong to one of the eligible categories mentioned above.
  • In round one, tab-switching, copy/paste attempt, screen shot attempt, page refreshing, or suspicious activity may lead to automatic discontinuation of examination.
  • Each participant must use a separate device during the exam.
  • Any use of unfair means will result in exam cancellation.
  • Only registered students may participate.
  • HSC 2024 pass-out students who have already been admitted to any university in Bangladesh are not eligible to register.
  • The Olympiad Organizing Committee's decision is final.

Examination

Examination Structure: Final Round: Online MCQ Exam (100 marks- Time - 50 min) [Question Language: English]

Compulsory Subjects (75% of total marks)

  • Bangla – 25 marks
  • English – 25 marks
  • ICT – 25 marks

Group-Specific Subjects (25% of total marks - choose any one)

  • Mathematics – 25 marks (for Engineering group/Science students)
  • Chemistry – 25 marks (for Medical group/Science students)
  • Business Studies – 25 marks (for Commerce group students)
  • English + Bangla – 25 marks (for Humanities group students)

Compulsory Subjects (75% of total marks)

Bangla

সাহিত্য: রেইনকোর্ট, যৌবনের গান

English

  • Tenses
  • Right Forms of Verbs
  • Appropriate Prepositions
  • Transformation of Sentences (Affirmative, Negative, Interrogative, Imperative, Optative)
  • Tag Questions

ICT

  • Basic ICT Concepts: Data vs Information, evolution of ICT, importance of ICT, digital devices
  • Computer Hardware & Number System: Input/output devices, basic hardware units, decimal–binary–octal–hex conversion, binary arithmetic
  • Logic Gates & Boolean Basics: AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR, XOR and simple logic simplification
  • Computer Networking Fundamentals: LAN/MAN/WAN, transmission media (twisted pair, fiber, wireless), network devices (hub, switch, router), protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP)
  • Programming Fundamentals: Algorithm, flowchart, basic C/C++ structure, simple problem-solving logic
  • Database Basics (DBMS & SQL): Table, row, column, primary key, foreign key, basic SELECT–INSERT–UPDATE–DELETE queries

Group-Based Subjects (25% of total marks)

Choose any one of the following. However, students who choose Bangla must also choose English, and students who choose English must also choose Bangla.

Accounting Essentials

  • Accounting equation & Double-entry system
  • Journals, Ledgers, Trial Balance
  • Financial statements: Profit/Loss, Balance Sheet
  • Cost sheet & Break-even analysis
  • Basic ratio analysis (Liquidity, Profitability)

Finance & Banking

  • Time Value of Money (TVM)
  • Banking system: Bangladesh Bank, Commercial Banking, Mobile Banking
  • Insurance basics: Life & General Insurance principles

Marketing & Production

  • Marketing mix (4Ps)
  • Product life cycle & Branding
  • Distribution channels & Digital marketing
  • Quality control & Inventory basics (EOQ)

Chemistry

  • Structure of atoms: An elementary treatment of theories of atomic structure, quantum numbers, Pauli's exclusion principle
  • Chemical bonds: Electronic concept of valence, different types of chemical bond e.g. ionic, covalent, co-ordinate covalent, metallic, dipole, hydrogen
  • Periodic Table: Modern periodic table and periodic law, variation of properties within periods and groups, usefulness and limitations of periodic table
  • Alkanes, alkenes and alkynes: Properties, nomenclature, preparations, identifications, reactions and pharmaceutical applications

Humanities (Bangla + English)
